I became intensely interested in photography about 30 years ago when trying to find a hobby that could satisfy both my mechanical and artistic interests. As a bonus, photography allowed me to cultivate these interests while interacting with people. I enjoy creating images that elicit positive emotional responses from my viewers.

Photography quickly became more than a hobby. Soon, I was invited to shoot weddings, family events, and a variety of commercial equipment for my company. I was completely captivated by spending evening and early morning hours in the darkroom, printing and re-printing to perfect my skills.

In 1996 I accepted a position teaching photography for the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. This opportunity has allowed me to interact with hundreds of photographers of all ages and abilities.
