I
became intensely interested in photography about 25 years
ago when trying to find a hobby that could satisfy both
my mechanical and artistic interests. As a bonus, photography
allowed me to cultivate these interests while interacting
with people. I enjoy creating images that elicit positive
emotional responses from my viewers.
Photography quickly became more than a hobby. Soon, I
was invited to shoot weddings, family events, and a variety
of commercial equipment for my company. I was completely
captivated by spending evening and early morning hours
in the darkroom, printing and re-printing to perfect my
skills.
In 1996 I accepted a position teaching photography for
the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. This opportunity
has allowed me to interact with hundreds of photographers
of all ages and abilities. Teaching has been a wonderful
chance to share my passion with the community. Additional
information about my course offerings may be found at:

The areas of photography that
interest me most are
individual/family portraits and wedding photography. The process
of making images for brides and families that capture the
essence of the day combined with the opportunity to meet such
wonderful and interesting people is irresistible.
